TOPIC: political polarization - Taiwan/China conflict
DEVICE: metaphor
ATTRIBUTE: interactive
MOOD: uneasy/sad
I am Taiwanese, while my partner Haoren is Chinese.
Just because of this, there’s already a wall between us. The groups that we belong to set us apart in the beginning, especially in the recent years, with rising political polarization and nationalism.
We talked with each other for a few times about the situation between our own parties. We landed on the conclusion that, we do care about each other, but we still couldn't pass the barrier set by the education and value we are given and grew up with. We are same, but different; sharing the same culture, but always having an invisible border lying between.
